Are classes online or face-to-face?
Both options can be discussed. Smart Steps Learning offers online tutoring and face-to-face support for local families where schedule and location are a good fit.
Which grades do you teach?
Smart Steps Learning supports Ontario students up to Grade 10, with Maths, English, and exam preparation adapted to the student's current level and goals.
Do you follow the Ontario curriculum?
Lessons are Ontario curriculum-aware and can support current school topics, homework, assessments, and foundational gaps.
Are classes 1-on-1 or group?
Both options are available: 1-on-1 tutoring for personalized attention and small group classes for structured peer learning.
How long is each class?
Class length is configurable. A common starting point is 45-60 minutes, depending on the student's age, needs, and goals.
Do you help with homework?
Yes. Homework support can be included while still focusing on long-term understanding.
Do you offer test preparation?
Yes. Lessons can include school test preparation, EQAO-style practice, IB readiness, IBT preparation, review questions, and confidence-building strategies.
Do you help with IB, IBT, and EQAO preparation?
Yes. Smart Steps Learning supports English and Maths preparation up to Grade 10 for IB, IBT, and EQAO-style goals with focused practice, skill review, and parent-friendly progress updates.
How does getting started work?
Parents get in touch through the contact page, then the tutor follows up to understand the student's goals, schedule, and best class format.
Can we discuss the right plan first?
Yes. Parents can ask questions first, share their child's needs, and choose the plan that best fits the student's goals and schedule.
How does payment work?
Payment details are confirmed directly after the class format, schedule, and plan are agreed.
Can we change schedule later?
Schedule changes can be discussed directly with the tutor, depending on availability.
Do parents receive progress updates?
Yes. Parent communication is part of the tutoring approach, especially around goals, progress, and next steps.
